Coverage of tattoos and scars
Yes, covering a tattoo is more complex than making a new one. Some conditions to take into account:
The new design is usually 2 or 3 times larger than the original tattoo.
Coverage must be darker than the original. Black, gray, dark colors and in some cases white can be used for the final details.
Depending on the saturation of the original tattoo, laser sessions may be necessary before tattooing.
It depends on how dark the original tattoo is. In some cases, several sessions are required to achieve a good result or even previous laser sessions.
Not all scars can be tattooed. It is important that the scar is completely healed (at least one year old) and that there is no inflammation or keloids. If you have any doubts, consult a dermatologist before getting a tattoo.
In some cases, yes. Depending on the texture and color of the scar, more than one session may be necessary to achieve optimal coverage.
Yes, as they require specialized techniques and a more complex process.
Care and preparation before tattooing
It is advisable to avoid anticoagulants such as aspirin, ibuprofen or alcohol 24 hours before the session, as they can increase bleeding and affect the quality of the tattoo.
If you have psoriasis, dermatitis, severe allergies or scarring problems (such as keloids), consult your dermatologist before getting a tattoo.

Tips for healing after tattooing
Keep the tattoo covered with the protective film for the first few hours.
Wash the area with warm water and neutral soap, without rubbing.
Apply a healing cream recommended by your tattoo artist.
Do not expose the tattoo to the sun or immerse it in water (swimming pools, sea, bathtubs) for at least 2 weeks.
Avoid tight clothing over the tattooed area to allow proper healing.
You should keep the skin moisturized by applying healing cream several times a day for at least 2-3 weeks. Then, continue to use moisturizer to preserve the colors and quality of the tattoo in the long term.
If you notice extreme redness, swelling, pus discharge, fever or severe pain in the tattooed area, consult a physician immediately. These may be signs of infection.
